Live updates as Apple unveils the new iPad Pro

Apple didn’t release any updates to the iPad lineup in 2023, but that’s about to change. At today’s “Let Loose” event, the company is expected to take the wraps off a new iPad Pro, which sounds like it’ll be a complete redesign featuring an OLED display and a new M4 chip inside. The iPad Air, meanwhile, is likely to get a more powerful chip than the M1 it currently has, and a larger screen option is also on the table.

We’ll be at Apple’s NYC event space covering all the news as it happens, and we’ll hopefully be following that with hands-on details of the new products. Our liveblog will have everything you need to know, so stay tuned — the event starts at 10AM ET.

The different, erasable Apple logos on their home page right now mimic what we’re seeing on the screen here as we wait for the event to start.

The event logo on Apple’s site can be “erased” with your cursor, which strongly suggests an eraser function is coming to a presumed new Apple Pencil. (Apple)

I think the biggest question I have is how expensive the new iPad Pro models will get. The current 12.9-inch models starts at $1,099. I’m not sure how much room there is to move the starting price higher, but with an OLED screen that seems to be a given.

Just need to kill time until the event starts at 10AM ET. In the meantime, any deep thoughts on surprises Apple might have in store? I’m still skeptical of the M4 being introduced so soon after the M3. I feel like that could really hurt MacBook Air sales — who’s going to buy an M3 Air when you know an M4 is coming?
